Reader Friday: Writing Links Roundup

We all know there are a ton of great writing resources out there. What are some of your favorite go-to resources on the web for inspiration or information about writing? (In addition to TKZ, of course!)

  1. Here's a site that lists many great blogs and web sites for writers:

  2. If you're looking for an agent, a good place to start is:

And with the rush to indie publishing, you're gonna need a freelance content/copy editor. Check out

  3. For crime fiction research, I love the email loop CRIME SCENE WRITER. I get it on email digest. Wally Lind, retired CSI started it, but many other members contribute their expertise - weapons experts, firemen, EMTs, etc. If you query CRIME SCENE WRITER and YahooGroups, you should find it. Email a request to join. It's open to anyone, but it's for research discussions, not author self promotion.

  4. The email is: - to send your email request to join.

  5. Here are a couple of popular writer forums.

    Absolute Write:

    Writing Forums:

    The Writer's Chatroom:

  6. Umm, The Kill Zone.

    Alexandra Sokoloff's Blog -

  7. Great resources, can't wait to check a few of these out. I've referred to Renegade Writers a few times for the freelance work I do.

  8. I just posted a link to this blog in my blog post-- it seemed too helpful to keep to myself. Thanks for the great suggestions, everyone.

  9. Thanks, Joe.
I LOVE AgentQuery. What a great tool to use. I'll definitely put it to good use for my latest fiction work and save a whole lot of time scouring the dead-weight How-to-Get-an-Agent books. More time to write book two...
